Imagery

“Qiè” is to steal. A blue so pale it seems filched from a fuller one — the first thin blue of an autumn sky.

Origin

Start of Autumn opens the year’s blue half: the heat withdraws, the sky clears. Its palette is one blue family, beginning at the lightest — the colour a summer sky keeps in reserve before autumn deepens it.
