Imagery & Provenance意象与出处

Solar term
立春 · Start of Spring — "东风解冻,蛰虫始振,鱼上冰。"
Imagery
“You” means to drift or wander. A pale yellow that wanders between yellow and white — not a fixed colour, but one caught mid-change.
Origin
Lichun, the first of the 24 solar terms, opens the year. As the east wind breaks the ice, low daylight on the water throws back a yellow-white shimmer that drifts and shifts — hence the name. It holds the seam between winter and spring: ice not yet gone, light still wavering.
