Imagery
“Bīngtái” is a classical name for mugwort, the Artemisia of ritual and medicine. A greyed, sage-green.
Origin
Mugwort was burned to drive off illness and hung at festivals. As the turning colour it gives the equinox a herbal, slightly dusty green — the term’s celadons acquiring a savour.
