Imagery

“Qing” is the green-blue of young plants; “càn” is bright, polished grain. Fresh Grain Green is the clear green of ripening wheat.

Origin

Start of Summer opens the year’s green half. Wheat is filling out and the fields have gone from yellow to green. As the term’s opening colour it is the exact green of grain not yet ripe — bright, edible, and light rather than heavy.
