Imagery

“Chēng” is a red-faced flush. Crimson Purple is a violet pulled strongly toward red — magenta in all but name.

Origin

As Pure Brightness’ succeeding colour it is the term at its most charged: the violet of a bruise rather than blossom. Where Cattail is the purple of the reeds, Crimson Purple is the purple of the dye-pot, red taking over the mix.
